tidbits from my life right now
by CindyI went to the Outer Banks last week with my family and had a fabulous break from the normal routine. I can’t believe I’ve never been there before. I tried to make it a no computer vacation and did a pretty good job there. Here are a few pics for the trip. I hate driving my family crazy with picture taking and so I always wish I’d taken more when I get home from traveling.

Near the Inter Coastal Waterway with Felix, Glen, Morgan, Carina, Silvia, and Dathan.

Isn’t Silvia adorable? She has amazing hair!

Self portrait the safe way.

Inside the light house~I went crazy here! Fabulous interior! Such amazing attention to detail in the architecture.

Kyle and me(self portrait). Sometimes I need to get in a shot or two just to prove I was around when we look at the pictures in twenty years.

Felix on the beach. He loves anything with wheels and an engine.

Super sand castle builders Geneva, Kyle and Glen.

Sea foam (with artificial color ala Cindy). I love the shape and texture sea foam makes and the fact that it is so fleeting.

Morgan is a specialist at burying herself in the sand.

After we got home for the trip Morgan and I were inspired to make homemade baguettes. They turned out pretty good for being only the first time. They really don’t take much time to make (except for the waiting for things to rise). They were pretty easy really. I just ordered some baguette pans online and I can hardly wait until they come to try it again.

Then we got really ambitious and made homemade grape juice. A tiny little old lady at the farmer’s market talked me into a half bushel of Concord grapes and gave me a short lesson in juice making. The juice turned out pretty good too.
OK, enough leisure time. Now back to my 80 hour work week. Lots of great stuff coming to the blog this week and weddings almost every weekend from now until mid November! I’m sure I’ll be really glad to see January come so I can have a break again.

Love the colors!
